So my latest path to automotive replacement is the following:

my main concern is the frame rust mentioned. i’m going to ask for some pictures of that. no NP or CP? I feel like its a bit of a jump from on XJ8. This would be a lot more fun in the snow. Should I? what should I expect as being the owner of a car thats almost as old as me? somethings tend to bickfire a bit more often (am I talking about the truck....?)

HOLY SHIT. Scrap your ideas for the XJ, grab this! Take off the crappy plasti dip, coat the entire bottom of the car with Fluid Film , and enjoy for ever and ever.

i looked at both those posts. then i searched for wagoneers. I would love to have the white one but I’m guessing the maintenance is a bit more expensive than the FJ. I’m thinkin about it tho

I had an 85 FJ60 for a daily for 2 years up until last year. Aside from being uncomfortable, loud, and stinky, it was awesome. Leaked oil and grease, and the rear shock mounts broke off (literally didn’t notice a difference there for a week) But it always started and ran. Couldn’t get it stuck in that ridiculous winter we had last year either. RIP buddy, I’ll miss you :(
